Unreal Palms

2024

A short film created using Unreal Engine at the Architectural Association as part of their Visiting School Programme; Unreal Worlds, lead by Inigo Minns and Sebastian Tiew.

The programme saw participants produce a genre-specific film limited to three scenes whilst simultaneously learning the software Unreal Engine.

Genres were drawn from a hat at random which followed with research into genre tropes, worldbuilding  and story development. The genre for this particular film was Sci-Fi.

The architecture that features in the film was inspired by the artworks of Minoru Nomata, the architecture of Konrad Wachsmann and the Arizona-based project Biosphere 2. Midjourney was used in the development  of the film to generate design concepts with Chat-gpt and ElevenLabs being used to generate dialogue and character audio.
